About our School

who we are

A valuable addition to the echelons of well established DPS schools, DPS Silchar, has been setup with focused perseverance of carrying forward the legacy of its parent organization - that of being an institute which is a compendium of holistic education and overall development of children. DPS Silchar is conveniently situated 3 kms from the heart of Silchar city. With a sprawling campus of 8 acres in a peaceful, scenic and inspiring location, the school's lush-green lawns, spacious and well-ventilated class-rooms create a perfect environment for learning. DPS Silchar currently offers schooling from Nursery and KG up to VIIth standard, with plans to expand to 10+2 in future. For facilitating adequate individual attention to all students, we intend to limit the number of students per class to approximately 35 in pre-primary and 40 in higher classes. This will also enable the teachers to nurture each student's emotional, behavioural and academic needs. In accordance with the modern needs of digital learning, our school will have a well-equipped library, computer labs and specialized digital labs for maths, science and language. The school has state of the art sports and fine arts facilities for refreshing the students between their curricular learning classes and developing their sports/artistic potential. These facilities include football, cricket and athletic grounds; lawn tennis, badminton, basketball and volleyball courts; specialized and well equipped studios for art, music and dance; and a swimming pool. Constant CCTV supervision, security guards in the school premises, a fleet of GPS tracked buses for safe passage of each child to school and home ensure maximum safety of our students at all times. The school will also have a sick room with a nurse for unforeseen health needs of our students In todays competitive and health challenging world, our school has recognized the need for beginning interactive health education at elementary school level. For inculcating daily physical activity and health awareness and as an essential component of a child's development, our school has collaborated with USA based Fun-Kid-Fit programme. DPS Silchar is the first school in India to conduct Fun-Kid-Fit's flagship Physical Education Programmes as a part of the school curriculum

Our aim is to prepare our children for life by:-

  • Broadening their horizons so that their world encompasses the whole of mankind.
  • Deepening their thoughts so that their learning becomes the means to achieve that perfection of mind in which analytical reasoning goes hand in hand with logical conclusion.
  • Helping them incorporate the essential values of goodness, honesty, humility and discipline as an integral part of their being.
  • Guiding them to become contented individuals whose strength lies in their ability to face adversities without fear and overcome challenges with confidence.
  • Inculcating in them the sense of gender sensitivity so that they learn to treat everyone as equal and rise above the barriers of discrimination of any kind.

Our Vision is to mould our students into inquisitive, intelligent, skilled and empathetic individuals who would be future leaders and responsible global citizens.

"Service Before Self"

The motto of our educational institution is a reminder to everyone that we belong to a cause larger than ourselves. We, as a part of DPS Society, lay the highest emphasis on making our students selfless human beings above everything else, for it is indeed in giving that we receive; it is in serving others that we find the utmost satisfaction and happiness.
